This wine consistently displays a vibrant character, with freshness, enthusiasm, and prominent fruit flavors in each vintage. While it is made only from muscat à petits grains, the influence of the first-growth vineyard, Nyulászó, is crucial to its unique personality. It's a captivating Tokaji that continues to impress us time after time.
“Common sense is only a modification of talent. Genius is an exaltation of it. The difference is, therefore, in degree, not nature.” — Edward Bulwer-Lytton
Clear, tight late harvest wine, a vibrant and unique imprint of the Muscat à petits grains and Nyulászó first growth vineyard. Notes of fennel, rose, and apricot compote evolve from the fascinating palette of scents. The explosion of fruits continues on the palate with apricot, brittle, and fresh citrus. A precise acid-sugar balance reveals the irresistible character of the wine, complemented by minerality.

The diligent efforts of our team, combined with the remarkable resilience of our vineyards, helped us overcome the challenges caused by early frost and extreme spring weather conditions. As a result, this year's harvest at the Estate began unusually early, in mid-August.
One of the youngest historical vineyards, yet among the most outstanding in quality—an exceptional site for cultivating one of our most important grape varieties, muscat blanc a petits grains. Nestled on a 200-meter-high hillside at the southeastern edge of Mád, the Nyulászó vineyard may be the youngest historically, but it stands among the finest in character. With gentle slopes facing all directions, the vineyard enjoys abundant sunshine and warmth. Located at the crossroads of several volcanic formations, it brings together all the rock types found in Mád’s famed hills. The soil is mostly heavy brown forest soil, with higher areas composed of yellow clay. Beneath the surface layers of weathered rhyolite and bentonite can be found, occasionally mixed with scattered quartzite stones.
Approaching from the south, visitors are greeted by one of our estate’s oldest parcels, where 65-year-old vines stand. Holdvölgy cultivates six distinct parcels on three different exposures of Nyulászó.
Our Nyulászó parcels are dedicated exclusively to muscat blanc a petits grains (Sárgamuskotály), a variety particularly well-suited to this terroir. Here, we apply a precisely tailored viticultural approach that meets the specific needs of the grape. This exceptional harmony between site and variety is reflected in the results: since 2008, five late harvest wines from Nyulászó have been awarded gold medals at the Muscats du Monde, one of the world’s leading competitions for Muscat wines.
