On the nose, apricot dominates the scent with medlar and honey. The palate is full of silky apricot, fig, and candied orange peel, accompanied by grapefruit. The sip is soft and long-lasting.

As previously written, the delayed ripening process, the high temperatures of early September, the autumn rains, the high concentration of acidity in the berries, and the early appearance of the botrytis cinerea (noble rot) all challenged us. But with close observation and analysis of the parameters we were able to set the optimal harvest dates for the different wines. The historical parcels of Mád provided us again with excellent fruit. Due to the lower yield, certainly, a few wines from our regular portfolio will not be released from this vintage. The wines of 2021 will have tight, dynamic, and crystal clear characters with high acidity that will provide longer aging potential.
A tokaji aszú wine is unique and limited. It is about unrepeatable and exceptional
uniqueness just like the most important moments of your life. Furthermore, a premium quality aszú wine preserves its value even for a century. This allows us to recall our most cherished memories with just a sip, using bottles made from fruit harvested in the year as the event.
Tokaj Aszú wines are released eight years after the harvest. Based on Holdvölgy’s experience, this is the optimal time for the wines to reach the maturity needed for exploration. To ensure customers can enjoy wines from significant vintages for themselves or their loved ones, these wines can be purchased before their official release year.
